HOME
I'm staring out into the night,
And trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
and feeling good don't ever cost a thing,
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.
I'm going home to the place where I belong,
where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm running from you know I think you got me all wrong,
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.

Tuesday, May 16, 2006 On life's little facade
All the world's a stage.
I glanced at you as you walked towards me, your presence seemingly larger than life. I took in the way you moved, the confidence you sought to potray and the way your eyes never seem to meet mine. A habit? or a confession? A wave of incoherent thoughts flood my mind, and I drift away. Images flash in front of my eyes, like a slideshow on blinkermode. I thought about all that has transpired and I wonder about the truths, the not-so-true, and I wonder about the outright lies. I wonder what's true and what's not. But most of all, I wonder about you. You and this strange attraction you have over me. You and the facade you've perfected. You and the path you've chosen. You and the way you feel about me.
Perhaps it would be weak for me to confess about this strange attraction you have on me, afterall life's all about the image, no? The mesmerising dance that we dance on the stage of life lures me in the way a predator lures its prey, and renders me captive to my heart. But it would be dishonest to lie, for a sin is never any less of a sin, even in the name of self-defence.
Take a look around you and take in all that's right and wrong in this world. Everything in this messed up world's a neutral entity, its density shaped solely by the intentions of its owner. Every knowledge either a blessing or a curse, every emotion coursing through your veins liberation or death.
If I told you I loved you, would you believe me? If I told you what you do affects who you are, and what we stand for, would you believe me? If I told you I'll be here for you, would you trust me?
I do, you do and I will.
What are you gonna do about it?
